The Yellow House

About the Yellow House

Nestled in a valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains, The Yellow House on Plott Creek Road has woven itself into the fabric of Western North Carolina for 140 years. Originally built as a family summer retreat in 1885, the inn has served as a popular meeting place for local politicians, a speakeasy during prohibition, and a luxury residence for many prominent local families. This historic inn now invites guests to enjoy the beautiful setting in ten cozy rooms and suites, ideal for a tranquil mountain getaway.

Located in Waynesville, just 30 minutes west of Asheville, The Yellow House on Plott Creek Road is perfectly situated on five rolling acres. Guests can relax with a glass of wine in the rocking chairs on the veranda, or scour the property for our hidden garden gnomes. This historic inn offers the peace and serenity of a quiet mountain setting with comfortable beds, 3-course gourmet breakfasts, jetted tubs in select rooms, cozy fireplaces, private decks, and warm Southern hospitality.
