New ABBA Kiosk at Visitor Center

The Asheville Bed and Breakfast Association is comprised of some of the most beautifully decorated historic homes in Asheville.  And while each of these homes is filled with the charm of a bygone era, they are a dramatic departure from your memories of grandmother’s house.  You will see the proof of this the moment you arrive at the Asheville Visitors Center.

As you enter Asheville’s beautiful Visitors Center, perched on a hill with vistas of the Blue Ridge Mountains, you will find your eyes drawn to a centerpiece of the facility:  The Asheville Bed & Breakfast Association Interactive Kiosk.  Visitors can engage with a touch-screen interactive display on the kiosk and  select a Bed & Breakfast based on size, location, or amenity. Room availability is easily accessed and guests can book online right at the kiosk, or make a simple phone call, to secure their stay.

Designed expressly for the Association, the kiosk is the first of its kind in the Visitors Center. Featuring a stunning attract screen, it showcases the warm and inviting atmosphere of the 16 Bed & Breakfasts of the Asheville Bed & Breakfast Association.  With the touch of a finger, maps appear helping visitors to locate an inn and chose one of Asheville’s varied neighborhoods in which to stay.  “We are grateful to the Asheville Visitors Center for their support of the kiosk.  The Asheville Tourism Department does a lot to ensure visitors enjoy our town and we are proud to be a part of this. ” states Bob Gilmore, President of the Association.  “Partnerships like this that lead to overnight visitation are good for the community ” noted Tom Roberson, Director of Visitor Services. ”

From Victorian houses to Arts & Crafts style homes, imposing Mansions to organic farmsteads, mountainside retreats and small villages, the inns of the Association can be found throughout the greater Asheville area. Asheville Bed & Breakfast Association inns offer modern convenience as well as luxury, and provide an alternative to hotels for discerning guests.

Jim Muth, Marketing Chair of the Association notes, “Today’s travelers want information quickly and visually.  And above all they are looking for choices. The kiosk and our Bed & Breakfasts offer exactly that.”

A ribbon cutting and demonstration is planned for 12 noon on May 8 at the Asheville Visitors Center on 36 Montford Avenue.  For more information, please call Susan Murray of the Carolina Bed & Breakfast at (828) 254-3608.
