Shindig on the Green in downtown Asheville

This summer is still simmering and the Asheville Bed and Breakfast Innkeepers are always recommending Shindig on the Green!  In 1967: Shindig on the Green was founded by Jackie and Earl Ward, Bob Lindsay, and Jerry Israel with the help of other Folk Heritage Committee members, as a place for musicians to gather and play on summer Saturday nights in downtown Ashevilles City County Plaza.  This is the 46th year of Shindig on the Green and its third at Pack Square Park

August 11th will be the next Shindig!

Don’t forget Asheville’s hottest summer festival, Bele Chere is this weekend. It’s the largest free music and arts street festival in the southeast. Bele Chere means ‘beautiful living’, and the streets of downtown Asheville will certainly be alive day and night.  July 27, 28 and 29 with a great lineup of bands, a variety of excellent food and drink from local eateries along with traditional festival street fare, streets full of entertainers, beautiful art and craft booths and merchandise from downtown businesses. Schedules, maps, transportation and parking recommendations will all be available at your home away from home.
