Old Farmer’s Ball

New Year’s Eve is a busy time for Asheville Bed & Breakfast Association inns.  Nearly every performance venue in town has something exciting planned to welcome 2014, covering the gamut of music genres and attracting guests far and wide.
For a distinct mountain experience, close out 2013 with the annual Old Farmer’s Ball New Year’s Eve Ball.  Hosted at Warren Wilson College in nearby Swannanoa, the evening features contra dancing and traditional music that have helped make such gatherings a local institution.
The night’s band will be Clew Bay, comprised of Alden Robinson (fiddle), Glen Loper (mandolin), Matthew Kenney (percussion), Owen Marshall (guitar), and Stuart Kenney (bass, banjo).  Nils Fredland will call the dances in what promises to be a lively, memorable time for all.
The cost of the New Year’s Eve Ball is $6 per person.  To best plot your drive between Bryson Gym and the Asheville Bed & Breakfast Association inn of your choice, consult the directions here.
