The Asheville area is known for the distinct comforts of its Bed & Breakfasts, but also for the high caliber of entertainers it draws. As visitors flock to the Blue Ridge Mountains this summer for its welcoming sights and climate, so do numerous top talents, including one of the nation’s most cherished voices.
For listeners who’ve dreamed of seeing A Prairie Home Companion live but haven’t been able to make it to Minnesota, Garrison Keillor is about to make that dream come true. On Tuesday, July 23 at 7:30 p.m., the esteemed host and writer brings his beloved radio show to Brevard Music Center’s Whittington-Pfohl Auditorium for an evening you’re sure to treasure. Less than an hour’s drive from an Asheville Bed & Breakfast, the open air venue is a wonderful place to enjoy over two fun-filled hours of skits, music, improv, and the News from Lake Wobegon.
Part of A Prairie Home Companion‘s 26-city “Radio Romance Tour,” taking the cast from Washington to Maine in 30 days by bus, the show will not be broadcast, making the night’s events even more of a must-see. Tickets are available online or by calling the Brevard Music Center box office at 828-862-2105.
