The innkeepers at Asheville Bed & Breakfast Association Inns bring you the best breakfast ingredients available. This often includes local produce and farm fresh eggs from the area. Between the accommodations, hospitality and food, you’ll feel spoiled. But maybe there’s a hole in your heart that can only be filled by hot, fresh, gourmet doughnuts with ingredients you recognize. Maybe after a filling breakfast and a morning adventure, you’ll be looking to have a cup of coffee and a treat to refuel.
We have a recommendation that will hit the spot. Hole, owned by Kim Dryden and Caroline Whatley, is a new doughnut shop that just opened on Haywood Road in West Asheville. The line out the door was worth the wait. The doughnuts were hot, had a perfect crispy texture on the outside and were chewy and satisfyingly sweet once you bit into them. The coffee is excellent. The service was friendly and efficient. A particularly appetizing option the day we stopped by was the glazed doughnut with a crunchy cinnamon, almond, and sesame seed topping. Their offerings will change weekly and be posted to their facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/holedoughnuts/info We think it’s worth checking it out.
